Film information

Story: Triple bill of films starring Mickey Rooney. In 'Love Laughs at Andy Hardy' (1947), Andy Hardy (Rooney) returns from service in World War Two and decides to enroll in college on the GI Bill. There he meets attractive student Kay Wilson (Bonita Granville) and falls in love, but is heartbroken when she decides to marry someone else. Andy's spirits are raised, though, after a heart-to-heart talk with his father (Lewis Stone), and after he meets glamorous Latin American exchange student Isobel Gonzales (Lina Romay). 'Quicksand' (1950) is a drama about a good-natured mechanic whose life is destroyed in less than a week. Danny (Rooney) finds himself short of cash when he's supposed to take out waitress Vera (Jeanne Cagney) on a date. He borrows 20 dollars from the cash register, planning on paying it back with 20 dollars that a buddy owes him the next day, but the friend doesn't turn up. In order to get the 20 dollars, he buys a 100-dollar watch on a payment plan and then sells it for the 20 dollars. Unfortunately, a detective discovers what Danny has done and orders him to pay the full 100 dollars immediately. Thereafter, every means he tries to get out of trouble only gets him deeper into crime, while everyone he meets is out for what they can get. 'Little Lord Fauntleroy' (1936) is the classic Hollywood adaptation of the children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, directed by John Cromwell. Freddie Bartholomew plays young Cedric Erroll, the Brooklyn boy who finds out that he is the long-lost heir to a fortune in England. Sent to stay with the frosty Lord (C. Aubrey Smith) who has been looking after the trust, Cedric soon warms his heart with his good nature, while having to prove himself against the local kids in the neighborhood. Rooney plays Cedric's best friend, Dick Tipton.
