Film information
Story: Psychological thriller. After serving his time on probation for a previous misdemeanour, Ben Garvey (Walker) is looking forward to finally enjoying life with his wife and daughter. However, when his boss finds out about his record he gets fired. In dire straits, Ben decides to help his brother (Shawn Hatosy) with a robbery which goes fatally wrong, and Ben finds himself being handed a death sentence after he's convicted of murder. He is executed by lethal injection, but then wakes up in a strange psychiatric institution called the Monte Angel community, where he is put to work as a groundskeeper and instructed not to leave the confines of the grounds by Father Ezra (Gunton). Understandably, Ben is in a state of turmoil and does not know where he is being kept or for what purpose. Consumed by the overwhelming desire to see his family, Ben is driven to try and discover what is really going on.
