Film information

Based on: The play 'We Own the Night' by Jimmy Garrett

Story: Film based on Jimmy Garrett's seminal Black Arts Movements play, 'We Own the Night' (1968). When African American Johnny Johnson (Billy Dee Williams) is turned down for a job, solely because of his skin colour, he decides to take action and joins a radical civil rights group. Before too long, Johnny and his crew of devoted revolutionaries are engaged in a furious gun battle with the police and guerrilla warfare erupts in the streets of LA.
