Film information

Based on: The play 'Events While Guarding the Bofors Gun' by John McGrath

Story: Drama set in post-World War II West Germany starring David Warner. Meek Lance Bombardier Terry Evans (Warner) has finally reached his last night of duty before being sent back to Britain for officer training. He has a difficult night ahead of him, however, as his subordinates Flynn (Ian Holm) and Featherstone (John Thaw) have no respect for him and, to make matters worse, O'Rourke (Nicol Williamson), an Irish gunner with sociopathic tendencies, is willing to go to extreme lengths to destroy Evans' hope for a better future.
