Film information

Based on: The novel 'Black Beauty' by Anna Sewell

Story: Five of the best episodes from the first season of the classic children's television series, inspired by Anne Sewell's novel. In 'The Fugitive', young Vicky and Kevin Gordon help restore the health of a mistreated ebony horse which they name Black Beauty. 'The Hostage' sees an escaped convict (John Thaw) holding Kevin and Beauty hostage in order to secure his freedom. In 'The Recruiting Sergeant', Kevin is tricked into joining the British Army. 'Sailor on a Horse' sees the Gordon family helped out by an ex-sailor when they are threatened with eviction. And 'Father and Son' has Doctor Gordon intervene in a dispute over little Stan.
