Film information

Based on: The short story 'Adjustment Team' by Philip K Dick

Story: A triple bill of thrillers. 'The Adjustment Bureau' (2010) is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick and set in modern-day New York. Determined young politician David Norris (Matt Damon) is close to winning a seat in the US Senate when he meets and falls in love with ballet dancer Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt). However, David soon realises that a future with Elise is not meant to be as the shadowy agents of destiny, who work for The Adjustment Bureau, become intent on sabotaging his relationship with her in order to keep fate running along its pre-ordained tracks. Can David defy destiny in order to be with the only woman he has ever loved? In 'The International' (2009), when obsessive Interpol agent Louis Salinger (Clive Owen) joins forces with Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman (Naomi Watts) to target corruption and international arms dealing within one of the world's most powerful banking institutions, the pair soon find themselves caught in a deadly cat-and-mouse chase across the globe. Finally, in 'The Debt' (2010), an American remake of the 2007 Israeli thriller 'Ha-Hov' from Assaf Bernstein, Helen Mirren stars as Rachel Singer, one of three Mossad agents who, in 1965, tracked down and killed an infamous Nazi war criminal. Now 30 years on, a man in Ukraine is claiming to be that same Nazi. Rachel is requested to go back on the case to discover the truth. CiarĂ¡n Hinds and Tom Wilkinson co-star as former Mossad agents.
