Film information
Story: Box set containing three popular teen comedy movies. 'A Cinderella Story' (2004) is a modern-day re-telling of the classic fairy tale. Hilary Duff stars as Sam Martin, a sweet but awkward high-school girl who has been suffering since the death of her father. The diner he owned now belongs to his thoroughly wicked widow, Fiona (Jennifer Coolidge), a former waitress who now makes Sam do all the hard work, mopping floors and washing dishes. School is no picnic for Sam, either - the most popular girl, the rich, pretty and bitchy Shelby (Julie Gonzalo) makes her life a misery. Things take a turn for the better when Sam loses her mobile phone and it is found by a mystery guy. The pair embark on a romance conducted entirely by text message and email. But who is the guy - and what will happen when Sam finally gets to meet him in person at the Hallowe'en school dance? 'What A Girl Wants' (2003) stars Amanda Bynes as Daphne Reynolds, a typical American teenager who comes to London to visit the father she has never met (Colin Firth). However, a clash of cultures is inevitable, particularly as her father is part of the English aristocracy. Undeterred, Daphne sets out to prove that love can conquer all, and almost succeeds in destroying the relationship with her father before it even begins. Finally, 'Chasing Liberty' (2004) stars Mandy Moore as Anna Foster, the smart and beautiful 18-year-old daughter of the President of the United States. With no escape from the media, the public or her father's watchful eye, she is desperate to live her own life and be independent. While on a family trip to Europe, she manages to slip through the net of her security guards - and falls into the company of British heart throb Ben (Matthew Goode). Not wanting to spoil the moment, she does not reveal her true identity to Ben - but little does she know he has a few secrets of his own.
