Film information

Based on: The 1970s TV series ('S.W.A.T.')

Story: Triple bill of action thrillers. Colin Farrell stars in 'S.W.A.T.' (2003), the big-screen adaptation of the 1970s police action television series, as Jim Street, a young special weapons and tactics team member who has just been demoted after a bad incident and is then chosen by S.W.A.T. expert Hondo Harrelson (Samuel L. Jackson) to join an elite team which plans to heighten its public image. Tough single mother Chris Sanchez (Michelle Rodriguez) and veteran T.J. (Josh Charles) are put together with Street, and the team survive a series of tests before their first big assignment. The assignment involves transporting an international criminal, who has offered $1 million to anyone who can help him escape, to federal authorities. In 'Bad Boys' (1995), detectives Lowrey (Will Smith) and Burnett (Martin Lawrence) must catch the thief who stole $100 million worth of confiscated heroin from under their noses, or their department will be closed down by the FBI. Beautiful, sexy, but not altogether trustworthy witness Julie (Tea Leoni) comes forward to help the two cops, who fall for her straight away. This leads to a series of identity changes, bed-hopping and bullet dodging. In 'Striking Distance' (1993), Tom Hardy (Bruce Willis) is demoted from homicide detective to River Rescue Patrol after challenging his superiors. Hardy believes that his father was murdered by a serial killer, not the man whom the police convicted. When the killer begins operating again two years later, Hardy sets out to track him down - much to the disapproval of his uncle (Dennis Farina), who is now Chief of Homicide.
