Film information

Story: Documentary recounting the explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton's loss of a boat and unlikely survival in an ill-fated Antarctic expedition. Presented by James Cracknell, the programme recounts the fate of Shackleton's ship 'Endurance', which set sail for the Antarctic in 1914 with the aim of being the first to cross the continent. Instead, the boat became trapped in the ice and crushed, forcing the crew to embark on a desperate bid for survival.
