Film information
Story: Light-hearted drama charting the rise to power of the 'Iron Lady'. Portraying Margaret Thatcher (Andrea Riseborough) as an attractive 25-year-old, the story follows her repeated attempts to gain a seat in what was, in the 1950s, a strictly male-dominated, Conservative Party. The film spans a period of ten years in Thatcher's life, from working as a research chemist, to meeting husband Dennis (Rory Kinnear), to dealing with the behind-the-scenes manoeuvering that threatened to curtail her political career, before her final, hard won success in Finchley.
