Story: When one young prisoner called Jan escapes from Auschwitz, ten inside the camp are punished to quell the commandant's wrath. They are sent to the starvation bunker and a Franciscan priest sacrifices his own life to save another. Jan is now tormented that his escape caused the death of the priest - and due to this he will always be a prisoner in his own mind.
