Film information

Story: Series in which actress and campaigner Joanna Lumley explores the history of the relationship between humans and cats. Travelling to Egypt, Belize, North America, Japan, Namibia and Mexico, she sets out to examine the significance cats have in certain cultures and how they are treated. From the most popular pets in the Western world to the wild big cats, Joanna explores the diverse relationships that people have with felines and the various superstitions that have historically been associated with them. Highlights include her visit to a cat festival in Belgium, a cat circus in Chicago, an ancient Egyptian tomb that has 3,500 year old drawings of cats on the walls, and her search for a jaguar in the Mayan jungle in Mexico.
