Film information

Story: PBS documentary on the legendary US Olympian who defied Nazi racism to win four gold medals in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. With the games presided over by Hitler and the Nazi Party, Owens was angered by the racism he faced but used it to inspire him to memorable feats on the track. This documentary tells the athlete's story in full, from his childhood in Cleveland to the struggles he faced on returning to his home nation, which had its own issues with racism.
