Film information

Story: Collection of documentaries presented by the British adventurer and Olympic gold medal rower, James Cracknell. In 'Toughest Race On Earth' Cracknell competes in the Marathon des Sables in Morroco. Known for being the ultimate test of human endurance, the race takes place across the gruelling terrain of the Sahara desert. In 'Coldest Race On Earth' Cracknell cycles the challenging 430-mile Yukon Arctic Ultra race in temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees. In 'Race Across America' the adventurer sets out to run, row, cycle and swim from Los Angeles to New York in 16 days. Finally, in 'South', Cracknell retraces the history of Sir Ernest Shackleton's ill-fated Antarctic expedition in the ship, 'Endurance'. Shackleton set sail in 1914, with the aim of being the first explorer to cross the continent. Instead, his boat became trapped in the ice, forcing the crew to embark on a desperate bid for survival.
