Film information

Based on: The novel by John Steinbeck

Story: Box set containing three movies starring Henry Fonda. 'The Grapes of Wrath' (1940) is John Ford's adaptation of John Steinbeck's classic novel, following the traumatic journey made by the Joads, a dispossesed Oklahoma family who head towards California to begin a new life. Fonda stars as Tom Joad, struggling against the forces of nature and the Depression to set down roots for the future. In 'My Darling Clementine' (1946), Wyatt Earp (Fonda) and his brothers Virgil (Tim Holt) and Morgan (Ward Bond) head for a peaceful ranching life in California, but tragedy strikes and makes Wyatt take up the Sheriff's badge again in the town of Tombstone - home to Doc Holliday (Victor Mature) and the notorious Clanton Boys. It isn't long before the Earps, Holliday and the Clantons face off in the most famous gunfight in history - at the OK Corral. Finally in 'The Ox-Bow Incident' (1943), Gil Carter (Fonda) and Art Croft (Henry Morgan) ride into a town frustrated by the prevalence of cattle rustlers. Suddenly, word comes that a popular rancher has been murdered which puts the already enraged town over the edge. When the spiteful mayor forms a posse, Gil and Croft are swept up in their mission, to seek vengeance, even upon those innocent of any wrong-doing.
