Film information

Story: Triple bill of low-budget film noir thrillers. In 'Detour' (1950) piano player Al Roberts (Tom Neal) is on his way from New York to the West Coast when he hitches a lift with a drugged-up businessman (Edmund MacDonald) who dies during the journey. Fearing that he will be blamed for the death, Roberts buries the body, but events soon spiral out of his control. In 'DOA' (1950) Frank Bigelow (Edmund O' Brien) wakes up one morning after a heavy night drinking, only to discover that he has been given a dose of a lethal, slow-acting poison which takes 25 hours to claim its victim. This leaves the dying Frank with time to try and find out who his own murderer is. Whilst in 'The Fast and the Furious' (1957) Frank Webster (John Ireland) is a fugitive from justice on the run from the law in a stolen sports car. In order to escape the country, he takes part in an auto-race which finishes across the border in Mexico; but will he be able to elude the cops long enough to win the race?
