Film information:
Based on: real life events
Story: Aussie domestic black comedy-drama as single mom plots her father's demise to spring her brother from jail. Katrina Skinner (Emily Barclay) is the single mother of toddler Bailee, living with her father John (Robert Morgan) in suburbia. Kat has a fiance, Rusty (Michael Dorman) and a brother Daniel (Laurence Breuls) in Jail with whom she has an overly close relationship. The money for her brother's upcoming appeal is nowhere to be found and her dad refuses to part with another penny after her life of handouts. She's driving around coked-up having it off with practically every bad boy in town while Rusty is taking care of Bailee, who's apparently not even his. The neighbours consider her a scourge, the cops are sick of looking at her and she is, for all intent and purpose, a nasty little piece of immoral work. She stands to inherit a fortune when her dad expires so, naturally, what with Daniel's appeal coming up, that expiration being hastened somewhat is an attractive prospect. From among her many burly lovers, she chooses an assassin and goes for it. The story is told from many angles - the neighbourhood gossips, flashbacks, witness statements - to hilarious effect.
