Film information:

Story: Box set containing nine classic musicals. 'My Fair Lady' (1964) is Lerner and Loewe's musical version of George Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion'. Professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison), an expert in phonetics, accepts challenge of transforming common cockney flowergirl Eliza Dolittle (Audrey Hepburn) into a lady through elocution lessons. Includes classic songs such as 'Wouldn't It Be Loverly', 'The Rain in Spain', 'I Could Have Danced All Night' and 'Get Me to Church on Time'. In 'Singin' in Rain' (1952), Don Lockwood (, who co-directs) has worked his way up from being a song-and-dance man with partner Cosmo Brown (Donald O'Connor) to become a top movie star. His on-screen partner, Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen), who believes that Don loves her for real, needs to have her awful singing voice dubbed with arrival of talkies. The girl selected is 'serious' actress Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds), for whom Don soon falls. Musical numbers include famous title song and 'Make 'Em Laugh', 'Good Morning' and 'You Were Meant for Me'. 'High Society' (1956) is a musical remake of 'The Philadelphia Story' and stars Grace Kelly as socialite Tracy Lord who, even as she prepares for her second marriage, still has obvious feelings for her ex-husband (Bing Crosby). She also strikes up a friendship with a reporter (Frank Sinatra), who has been sent to cover her society wedding. The Cole Porter score includes 'Who Wants To Be a Millionaire' and famous Crosby/Sinatra duet 'Well, Did You Evah'. In 'Calamity Jane' (1953), Doris Day plays a famous female sharpshooter, who would rather hit targets than chase men - until she falls for 'Wild Bill' Hickok (Howard Keel), who would rather shoot Indians than chase after a tomboy like Calamity Jane. Featuring Oscar-winning song 'Secret Love'. In 'Gigi' (1958), an innocent French girl (Leslie Caron) finds herself being trained as a courtesan so that she can become mistress of Gaston Lachaille (Louis Jourdan), a family friend and heir to a sugar fortune. However, when Gaston actually falls in love with young Gigi he complicates a long-standing family tradition and throws their whole social circle into a flap. 'Annie Get Your Gun' (1950) stars Betty Hutton as backwoods sharpshooter Annie Oakley. Plucked out of obscurity by Buffalo Bill (Louis Calhern), the rough-edged Annie is groomed for a leading role in Bill's world famous Wild West show. However, Annie has a rival in form of rifleman Frank Butler (Howard Keel), a man she soon falls in love with. Features songs 'Anything You Can Do' and 'There's No Business Like Show Business'. 'Meet Me in St. Louis' (1944) stars Judy Garland as a young St. Louis girl in love with boy next door. The film is set in 1904, when St. Louis hosted World's Fair. Songs include 'Meet Me in St. Louis', 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' and 'The Trolley Song'. 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' (1954) stars Howard Keel as Adam Pontabee, a recently married rancher who brings his bride Milly (Jane Powell) back to live on ranch with him and his six unruly brothers. Shocked at their bad manners, Milly begins to coach boys in ways of polite society and accidentally gives them idea of kidnapping six eligible young ladies for purposes of marriage. Includes songs 'Bless Your Beautiful Hide' and 'Lonesome Polecat'. Finally, in 'The Wizard of Oz' (1939) a tornado whisks Dorothy (Garland) and her house from Kansas to Munchkin City, squashing Wicked Witch of East upon landing. The Wicked Witch of West vows revenge, while Dorothy sets off on yellow brick road for Oz with a scarecrow, a tin man and a cowardly lion - all of whom have specific reasons for wanting to meet magical Wizard of Oz.
