Film information

Story: The complete first and second seasons of the classy US legal thriller starring Glenn Close as hotshot New York attorney Patty Hewes. When, in the first series, she decides to take on millionaire businessman Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson) in her company's biggest class action lawsuit, Hewes needs all of her steely, win-at-all-costs approach to outwit her high-profile opponent. With Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne), a young, inexperienced protege on board, events take a dramatic turn when she becomes the prime suspect in a murder inquiry. Episodes comprise: 'Pilot', 'Jesus, Mary and Joe Cocker', 'And My Paralysing Fear of Death', 'Tastes Like a Ho-Ho', 'A Regular Earl Anthony', 'She Spat at Me', 'We Are Not Animals', 'Blame the Victim', 'Do You Regret What We Did?, 'Sort of Like a Family', 'I Hate These People', 'There's No 'We' Anymore' and 'Because I Know Patty'. In the second season Patty is revelling in glory after her triumph over Arthur Frobisher. However, when a man from her past reappears, Daniel Purcell (William Hurt), she has a new action to contend with. Taking on a murder case for Daniel, it soon becomes apparent that it's much more complex than first thought and leads Patsy to the discovery of a far reaching conspiracy that implicates some very senior government officials. Meanwhile, the FBI is still investigating Patty and the firm and now they have Ellen as their willing informant. Episodes comprise: 'I Lied Too', 'Burn It, Shred It, I Don't Care', 'I Knew Your Pig', 'Hey! Mr Pibb', 'I Agree, It Wasn't Funny', 'A Pretty Girl in a Leotard', 'New York Sucks', 'They Had to Tweeze That Out of My Kidney', 'You Got Your Prom Date Pregnant', 'Uh Oh, Out Come the Skeletons', 'London. Of Course', 'Look What He Dug Up This Time' and 'Trust Me'.
