Film information

Based on: Books by Chris Van Allsburg ('Jumanji') and EB White (Stuart Little')

Story: Triple bill of kids' comedies. In 'Daddy Day Care' (2003), Charlie Hinton (Eddie Murphy) and Phil (Jeff Garlin) are fired for a disastrous advertising campaign. They soon find themselves looking after their children while their partners go back to work. However, as they have had to cut back, with Charlie taking his son out of an expensive day-care run by Ms Harridan (Anjelica Huston), they decide that since if it's what they do anyway, why not set up their own day-care centre? Despite the usual pitfalls that come with looking after other people's children, the centre becomes a success; but Ms Harridan is looking for revenge as their gain is her loss... In 'Jumanji' (1995), young Judy and Peter Shepherd discover the board game Jumanji in their new house. But when they begin to play they release wild animals along with Alan Parrish (Robin Williams), a grown man who has been trapped inside the game since he was 12 years old. Together they must seek out Alan's friend Sarah (Bonnie Hunt) and re-enter the game to win. In doing so they have to face elephants, lions... and the big game hunter Van Pelt. In 'Stuart Little' (2000), Mr and Mrs Little (Hugh Laurie and Geena Davis) visit an orphanage to find a brother for their son George (Jonathan Lipnicki), and come away with a charming talking mouse called Stuart. After initial misgivings, George and Stuart begin to get on famously, and everything seems to be going perfectly; but unknown to the family, the neighbourhood cats have ganged together with the sole intention of getting rid of Stuart. Co-written by M. Night Shyamalan ('The Sixth Sense'), the film features state-of-the-art computer-generated effects and Michael J. Fox as the voice of Stuart.
