Film information

Based on: The story by ETA Hoffman

Story: The first Royal Ballet production of Delibes' 'Coppelia' in over twenty years, it stars Leanne Benjamin and Carlos Acosta, and is choreographed and produced by Dame Ninette De Valois, the Company's founder. The story tells of the toymaker Dr Coppelius' attempts to bring a doll to life, and of Swanilda's deception, where she substitutes herself for the doll in an attempt to save her lover, Franz, from the doctor's magic.
