Film information

Based on: The 1998 feature 'Taxi'

Story: Box set containing three popular comedy movies. 'Taxi' (2004) is a loose comic remake of the 1990s French film trilogy written by Luc Besson. Queen Latifah stars as Belle Williams, New York's fastest (and flashest) cab driver. However, her real dream is to be a racing driver, an ambition she is well on her way to realising - until bumbling cop Andy Washburn (Jimmy Fallon) and a gang of Brazilian bank robbers led by the beautiful Vanessa (supermodel Gisele Bundchen) get in her way. 'The Girl Next Door' (2004) is a teen comedy starring Elisha Cuthbert as 19-year-old Danielle, a perfect, pretty 'girl-next-door' with an unexpected past. When Matt (Emile Hirsch), a straight-arrow high school senior, falls for her in a big way, he comes to realise that if he wants this very special woman, he had better be pepared to risk it all and accept her just the way she is - porn star past and all. Finally in 'Shallow Hal' (2001), Hal Larson is a typical Joe Blow when it comes to his aspirations for a date. She must be magazine beautiful and who cares about her personality. He keeps an eye out for the ladies when down the bar with his longterm buddy Mauricio (Jason Alexander), but somehow the A-list beauties just aren't attracted to sloblike Hal. But after a chance meeting with (real-life) guru Anthony Robbins, Hal is hypnotized to see the 'inner' beauty in other people and starts seeing the obese as thin and attractive. He then strikes up a relationship with the seemingly beautiful Rosemary (Gwyneth Paltrow), who in fact weighs over three hundred pounds. His friends aren't sure what to make of this strange turn in Hal's life and resolve to bring him back from his hypnotic reverie, with unexpected results.
