Film information

Story: This release includes a late silent short starring Buster Keaton and a mid-1950s television tribute to the great comedy actor. Filmed just a year before Keaton's death in 1966, 'The Railrodder' (1965) follows the misadventures of an elderly Englishman (Keaton) as he embarks on an unconventional tour of the railways of Canada, which begins with a long walk across the Atlantic Ocean. 'Screen Directors Playhouse: The Silent Partner' (1955) is an episode of the 1950s American anthology series based around leading Hollywood actors. Directed by comedy veteran George Marshall and based on aspects of Keaton's own life, the episode tells the tragi-comic story of once-famous comedy star Kelsey Dutton (Keaton), who watches the Oscars on television in a down-at-heel diner while others reap the rewards of his formidable talent.
