Film information

Story: Triple bill of comedies starring Sacha Baron Cohen. 'Bruno' (2009) sees Baron Cohen bringing his alter ego, flamboyant gay Austrian fashionista and supermodel wannabe Bruno, to the big screen for this faux-documentary comedy. The camera follows Bruno as he blithely interacts with the American public, pressing every homophobic, racist and otherwise outrageously controversial button as he goes. 'Ali G: Indahouse' (2002) is the first big screen adventure for Ali G (Baron Cohen's irony-filled, semi-reverent swipe at British West-Indian musical stereotypes). Ali G, leading light of the West Staines Massiv, runs a course in a local community centre for local surburban kids keen to emulate his (deluded) gangster dope-ness. When the centre is threatened with closure by budget cuts Ali is persuaded to run for the job of local MP, bringing him to the attention of scheming Deputy Prime Minister (Charles Dance), who is keen to somehow discredit the Prime Minister (Michael Gambon) through association with a loose cannon like Ali. Unfortunately Ali's platform on race relations and immigration proves surprisingly popular, and Ali saves the PM. Will Ferrell stars in the car racing comedy 'Talladega Nights' (2006). NASCAR stock car racing sensation Ricky Bobby (Ferrell) has become a national hero because of his 'win at all costs' approach. He and his loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo known as 'Shake' and 'Bake' by their fans for their ability to finish so many races in the #1 and #2 positions, with Cal always in second place. When flamboyant French Formula One driver Jean Girard (Baron Cohen) challenges 'Shake' and 'Bake' for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight Girard for the right to be known as racing's top driver.
