Film information

Story: DW Griffith's classic melodrama. Cheng Huan, a Chinese man, has taken it upon himself to bring the teaching of Buddhism to the Western world. Soon after arriving in London's Limehouse he becomes despondent by the lack of interest and underlying racism and decides to become a shopkeeper. However, when he becomes involved in protecting a young girl (Lillian Gish) from her violent and xenophobic father he falls in love with her. But all is not peaceful for long when the father discovers that his daughter is staying with a foreigner...
