Film information

Story: Box set containing three popular family movies. 'Boo, Zino and the Snurks' (2004) is a German computer-animated movie featuring the voice of Patrick Stewart. When Gaya's power stone is stolen by Professor N. Icely (Stephan Lander), local hero Zino (Glenn Wrage), his companion Boo (Alan Mariot), the mayor's daughter Alanta (Emily Watson) and the local trouble makers The Snurks are pulled into the vortex as well. When they wake up, they find themselves in a world filled with giants, monster rats and buildings that reach into the sky. 'Around the World in 80 Days' (2004), is a playful retelling of Jules Verne's classic novel, starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan. Chan plays Passepartout, valet to the neurotic, time-obsessed English inventor, Phileas Fogg (Coogan), who has made a wager with fellow members at his London gentleman's club that he can traverse the globe in only 80 days using as many kinds of transportation as possible (from boats and trains to hot-air balloons and elephants). Unfortunately, the London police have mistakenly identified Fogg as the perpetrator of a bank robbery that took place just before he left the country, and a relentless detective is in hot pursuit of the unlikely pair. To complicate matters further, Passepartout is not what he seems: he is in fact notorious Chinese thief Lau Xing, and has entered Fogg's employ for the prinicipal purpose of lying low after stealing a priceless jade Buddha. Finally, 'Elf' (2004) is a Christmas family comedy directed by independent filmmaker Jon Favreau. Will Ferrell stars as Buddy, a human being who has spent his whole life believing himself to be an elf. Brought up by Santa (Edward Asner) and his elves at the North Pole, Buddy has spent the last 30 years happily working in Santa's toy workshop. But when his ungainly size starts to become a liability in the elf-sized working environment, Santa suggests that Buddy head to New York City to find his biological father (James Caan). Needless to say, the unlikely spectacle of a 6'5' man dressed from head to foot in bright green stands out a mile on the streets of the Big Apple, and the good-natured Buddy finds himself in all sorts of scrapes as he gets used to his new family and surroundings - and they get used to him.
