Film information
Story: Documentary from the award-winning music series 'Beats Of The Heart' exploring the music of contrasting communities across the world. This award-winning film was one of the inspirations for Paul Simon's 'Graceland' album and his acclaimed collaboration with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, contrasting the suppression of apartheid with the exuberant music of the townships. Artists featured include: Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Mahotella Queens, Malombo, Johnny Clegg, Sipho Mchunu, Abafana and Philip Tabane. Includes 12 page booklet and director's commentary.
