Film information

Story: Bollywood classic. Baiju (Bharat Bhushan) is a young musician who travels from his humble home to the court of the Emperor Akbar (Bipin Gupta). Many years before, the Emperor's court singer Tansen (Surendra) was responsible for ordering the execution of Baiju's father. Baiju has come seeking revenge, even though he is torn between his need for vengeance and the love of the village girl Gauri (Meena Kumari). Baiju challenges Tansen to a musical duel in which he is victorious, but when he returns to Gauri he finds that she is preparing to marry another man. Rushing to prevent her marriage, Baiju tragically drowns when trying to cross a river.
