The course is run by Dr Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) who brings together a disparate group of people for his sessions; from bi-sexual porn stars through to an ex-con. However, Buddy has his own issues and these come to light when he insists on moving in with Dave for spell of intensive therapy. In 'Happy Gilmore' (1996), Sandler is a would-be hockey star who finds his slap shot better employed on the fairway. When his granny loses her house to the IRS, Happy determines to buy it back by winning the pro golf tour. His temper and antics soon make him golf's media darling, but a bitter rival (Christopher McDonald) has a few tricks in store. 'Mr Deeds' (2002), is an updating of the 1936 Frank Capra classic 'Mr Deeds Goes to Town'.
