Story: The first two instalments in the series looking at the history of jazz. 'The Jazz Pioneers' examines the music's roots in the African and European traditions and shows how it developed through work songs, Ragtime and marching band music into New Orleans jazz and, later, swing. 'The Jazz of New York' examines the music's passage from the Deep South to Chicago and, finally, to New York.
