Film information

Story: A collection of performances by American comedy duo Abbbot and Costello. 'Funniest Routines (Volumes 1 and 2)' (1955) features highlights from the 1950s comedy sketch show The Colgate Comedy Hour. Routines included are: 'Hole in the Wall', 'Mustard', 'The Magic Act Bit', 'Aspirin', 'Army Drill', 'Niagara Falls' (featuring Errol Flynn), 'Jonah and the Whale', '7 x 13 is 28', 'The Piano Bit', 'The Lemon Bit', 'The Dice Game', 'Who's on First?', 'Getting Down Off a Duck's Back', 'The Ice Cream Bit', 'Bryant-444', 'Get Out of the Office', 'The Handkerchief Gag', 'Higher and Lower', 'Cotton in the Ears', 'The Dancing Partner', 'The Initiation', 'Oh! Charlie', 'The Port Hole', 'The Hammock Routine', 'Go Ahead, Play the Music', 'A Figure of Speech' and 'Crazy House'. 'Africa Screams' (1949), Abbott and Costello's last film together, finds the pair on safari with a circus star (Clyde Beatty), convinced that a horde of treasure lies hidden somewhere in the wilderness. A classic fairytale gets the Abbott and Costello treatment in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' (1952) as the duo take on a babysitting job. Jack (Abbott) starts reading the famous legend to his charge, Donald, but stumbles over the big words. When Donald takes over, Jack falls asleep, and is transported to a magical world in which he is the story's vine-clambering protagonist.
